I compose music for audiovisual works, sometimes directly on film, sometimes not; but always in order to fit both the content and my co-workers' will at the highest level of accuracy. This implies deep commitment and constant dialog.
My curiosity is insatiable and my musical world is broad enough to reunite serious music from any time, folklore music from any place, and pretty much anything that descend from the Blues.
My compositions are performed by the Orchestre-Machine, which I conduct with a mouse and a couple of keyboards serving as a baton. However, nothing would please me more than having them played by one or several actual human beings. If you happen to fit this description, don't hesitate over asking me for some scores: I'll be glad to provide them.
I was already fond of music at the moment of my first memory. Still, I remain ignorant of what the inside of a music school might look like, and the only teaching I ever recieved came from recordings, books and scores.
In some way it is a liability, in some other way it is an asset. I was never shown any shortcut, nor was I ever formatted, so much that I am unable to take the easy way out and use an impersonal and obvious language. My music is fragile, it is shy, its themes are fleeting and its silences are impatiently sighing. I spend all my resources trying to transcribe my feelings and my wandering thoughts into a musical language that would be at the same time sincere and accessible — genuinely giving.
That being said, the best way to get an answer to the title-question is most likely to scroll back to the previous section and listen to some of my pieces... or even better: to work with me on one of your projects.
In 2021 I teamed up with my old fellow Shimyo, for the first time in almost ten years. We took the name AbstraktS (which starts with a capital "A" as in Antoine Portes and ends with a capital "S" as in Shimyo) and released the album The B-side of the Earth in early 2022.
You will find it in the discography above, but if you seek more detailed informations, please visit AbstraktS' dedicated web page.

Most of my works are published by Virtuel Audio, which is also a recording/mixing studio (located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris) and a welcoming team whose members are all whether sound engineer, composer or both. They record sound (on shootings or in studio), compose soundtracks, make sound design and proceed to final mixes, mostly in the field of documentaries. Moreover, they were among the first people to dig into VR 360, and thus enjoy a state-of-the-art knowledge of this technology.

As a member of the Société des Auteurs, Compositeurs et Éditeurs de Musique (Sacem), I ought to declare every one of my works to the aforementioned society. The Sacem handles my author's rights and protects my compositions' intellectual property. Besides, by virtue of an agreement between the Sacem and the association Creative Commons (CC), my scores are available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC-BY-NC-SA).

I wanted to create this website by myself, from scratch, eventhough I've never recieved any IT training. The purpose being to ensure complete control over its functioning and aesthetics; but also to make sure that users' privacy doesn't get threatened (no ad, no cookie, no tracker, etc.).
I made it thanks to the valuable tutorials by W3schools which allow noobs like me to make a proper use of HTML, CSS and javascript — I stuck to these three, but W3schools' website offers to get a lot further — requiring nothing more than a simple text editor (I've personally chosen Visual Studio Code, but there are many out there, all equally good and, most often, available for free).

Amongst the various free hosting solutions, I chose GitHub Pages, for it is the only one, that I know of, which simply hosts web pages whithout interfering with their code, full responsability of the latter thus being left to the uploader. Nevertheless, eventhough this solution fits my particular needs, most people would rather appreciate services that come with extra features like creation tools or domain names.

People learning music on their own, like I do, will understand better than anyone else how useful it can be to deeply analyse a fugue by Bach, a quartet by Bartók or some variations by Webern; to read treatises on harmony by Rameau, Reicha, Koechlin, Schönberg... treatises on counterpoint and fugue by Fux, Gédalge, Koechlin... the treatise on orchestration by Berlioz...
They will therefore be glad to find all this, plus infinitely more, for free, at the Internet Music Score Library Project (IMSLP), whose debt I am forever in.
